Effective May 14, 2018 our physicians are no longer able to round on newborn babies at the hospitals.  You and your baby will be seen by a hospital clinician and then we will see you for your baby’s first newborn visit at the office.

Patient-Centered Medical Home

Ballard Pediatric Clinic has achieved national recognition as a Patient-Centered Medical Home. This means we are constantly striving to improve our procedures and processes in order to provide the best and highest quality care to your child. Through this work we are monitoring data and using data to measure and improve outcomes. Some of the data we look at are immunization rates, medication management, patient satisfaction, and more. We’d like to share some of our successes with you:

*91% of our 13 year-olds are up-to-date on both Tdap (Tetanus, Diptheria, Pertussis) and MCV4 (Meningitis) vaccines.

*We are reducing unnecessary antibiotic use for the treatment of pharyngitis (sore throat). As a result, 98% of patients who were prescribed an antibiotic for pharyngitis had a strep test performed to ensure antibiotics were indicated.

*On our patient experience survey, 95% of families surveyed reported that our “providers explained things understandably” and 96% reported that our “providers showed respect for what the patient said”. Thank you to those families who have participated in our survey. We truly value your feedback!

Welcome Dr. Bay!

Mildred Bay, MD photo

We are excited to announce that Mildred Bay, MD is joining our practice in September 2016. She has been in practice in Port Angeles for the past 11 years and is relocating with her family to the Seattle area at the end of August. Dr. Bay completed medical school at UCLA and her pediatric residency at Seattle Children’s Hospital in 2005. Dr. Bay will see patients on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Please remember to schedule your child’s well child exam!

As a reminder, we can schedule 6 months in advance!

We are currently scheduling into the month of September. Summer is the busiest time for these types of visits and we fill up VERY quickly.

Depending on your insurance – your carrier may require you to schedule your child’s well child exam a full year after the last one. There are also some that only require it to be a different calendar year. Please check with your insurance carrier if you are unsure of their policy.
